Chain reaction

Apr. 17, 2013  PLYMOUTH EAGLE.

According to witnesses, a motorist ran a red light at Edward Hines Drive and Wilcox Road at about 2:56 p.m. last Thursday, causing a three-vehicle crash and injuring a 19-month-old toddler. A motorcyclist was also involved in the crash. The impact and chain reaction propelled a camper top from an older model pick-up truck over a guard rail and onto the grass embankment. Huron Valley Ambulance (HVA) was first on the scene, followed by paramedics from Plymouth Township Community Fire Department dispatched to the scene. The child, who was still strapped in her car seat when the ambulance arrived, appeared to have an eye laceration and was transported to a local hospital by HVA.
