Habitual offender charged in Canton B&E’s gets probation

David Edward Miller, a serial burglar, will serve three years probation and pay a $1,000 fine after pleading guilty to several break-ins in Canton Township.

Miller, 58, of Clinton Township, faced a maximum of 40 years in prison for the four break-ins, a charge of larceny along with a habitual offender charge.

Miller entered a guilty plea to breaking and entering two BIGGBY Coffee location, a Subway sandwich shop and a local tanning salon in August. Each of the felony charges carried a maximum 10-year sentence. As a habitual offender, he faced the possibility of life in prison.

According to state prison records, Miller was released from prison in March where he had been serving terms for charges including breaking and entering.

Miller was sentenced by a Third Circuit Court judge.
