Potters host Raku workshop

The Village Potters Guild will sponsor a second Raku Workshop the evening of Sept. 20 and all day Sept. 21 at the Guild Located at 340 N. Main Street in Plymouth. Participants will be able to choose from an assortment of styles of pottery priced from $10-$30 will glaze their piece or pieces. The pots will then be kiln fired while the person is there to watch the process. The pieces will be completed during the workshop. There is a $10 registration fee and pre-registration is available by phoning (734) 207-8807. Pottery demonstrations and sales will also take place during the workshops.

 

Brews, Brats and Bands set

The Canton Historical Society will sponsor the 4th Annual Brew Brats and Bands at the Barn from 6- 9 p.m. Sept. 21. The event is a beer tasting fundraiser for the Canton Historical Society at the Cady Boyer Barn at Preservation Park. The event includes live entertainment, more than 60, possibly up to 100 different types of brew, and all the Brats you can eat. The event will take place rain or shine. Sponsors include Holiday Market and the Liberty Street Brewing Co. Tickets are priced at $25 if purchased in advance and $30 the day of the event. Designated driver tickets are priced at $10. Home tour

The AAUW-Northville Novi Branch 18th Annual Home Tour, Three Centuries of Homes, will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.Tickets $20 available online now at www.aauwnn.org. Featured are six Northville and Novi homes spanning three centuries of construction and varying widely in architecture and interior design, each reflecting how families have adapted to the 21st century while living in a community with a Victorian village at its heart.

 

Mothers group to meet

The St. Edith/St. Kenneth Catholic Parishes’ Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is open to all mothers with children aged newborn through kindergarten. The group is dedicated to providing encouragement, nurturing, and support mothers need in this season of life. The schedule of activities includes speakers, crafts, and group discussions. St. Edith/St. Kenneth MOPS meets from 9:15-11:30 a.m. on the first and third Fridays of the month at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 Haggerty Road , Plymouth. For more information call at (734) 536-6410 or e-mail stekmops@gmail.com, or visit our website at www.stekmops.org.  The first meeting is set for Sept. 20.
