The Wayne Historical Society will host guest speakers Andrew and Wendy Mutch who will discuss the history of Sears Kit house in Michigan at 7 p.m. Sept 12.

There will be a discussion about kit houses and how to identify if your home is Sears house. Many companies sold kit houses. Often houses misreported as Sears houses are actually kits from other companies. In addition to Sears, Montgomery Ward, Aladdin, Gordon-Van Tine, Harris Brothers and others sold kit houses.

The meeting will take place at the Historical Museum, 1 Town Square, at the corner of Main and Biddle in downtown Wayne.

The meeting is free an open to the public.
