Inspired patriotism leads to honor for Northville business

At exactly twelve o’clock noon every day everything stops at the Northville Mission BBQ restaurant on Haggerty Road in Northville Township.

Lead by general manager Stephen Chappel, the staff comes to attention, assembles along with the patrons in the restaurant and stands to sing the National Anthem, an awe-inspiring patriotic practice.

This honorable but unusual practice has drawn much attention and recently that of the National Society of the American Revolution – a non-profit, non-partisan organization deducted to promoting patriotism and preserving American history for future generations.

Last month Dr. Jeffrey Koup, Chairman of the Flag Committee of the Huron Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution recognized Mission BBQ  and their exemplary daily routine and presented a Certificate of Commendation to honor Chappell and his employees in recognition of  their unfaltering patriotism and display of the American flag.

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light,  What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
