Hit and Run driver kills 20-year old man in Northville

Northville Township police report a hit and run driver killed a 20-year old man Thursday night on Sheldon Road between 6-Mile and Tournament Drive.

According to authorities, the accident happened just before midnight when the victim and his friends were out skateboarding south from 6-Mile – down the hill. Police say the driver never stopped, leaving his victim in the street.

WDIV-TV-4 reported, “One friend told police he moved over for a car that came from behind them and when he looked behind he noticed the victim was gone.”

Lt. Mike Burrough said the suspect vehicle is likely to have damage to the front-end and windshield on the passenger side,  was light in color and possibly a smaller sedan or SUV.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Northville Township Police Department Detective Bureau at 248-349-9400.
