Schoolcraft Rd Bridge over M-14 closing for construction Thursday

As part of the Revive 275 reconstruction project, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)  is planning to fully close the Schoolcraft Road bridge over M-14 bridge starting next week – Thursday, Aug. 12, for a period of three weeks to complete bridge rehabilitation work.

The full closure of this bridge will begin after the morning rush hour. There will also be intermittent lane closures of both EB and WB M-14 throughout this period. M-14 will maintain two lanes open during the weekdays with only one lane open on weekends.

The Metro Trail will also be closed for the three weeks duration due to the needed abutment repairs.  Detour routes will include Five Mile and Haggerty Roads and will be posted by MDOT.

MDOT will be repairing and rebuilding 24 miles of I-275 in six phases between Will Carlton Road and 6 Mile Road in Wayne county. The project includes 10 miles of concrete pavement repairs. 14 miles of rebuilding concrete pavement, asphalt resurfacing of four interchanges, rebuilding concrete pavement on parts of all of six interchanges, improving 65 bridges and retaining wall, drainage improvements, signs replacements, traffic signal modernization, intelligent transportation system (ITS) improvements, sidewalk improvements that are compliant withe the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and tree replacements.

The massive construction project which commenced last month will continue through 2024.
