Some very special guests will be attending the Turning Through Time event at the Mayflower Meeting House next month.

Both Ben Franklin and Paul Revere will be on hand for the event and the re-enactors have promised to regale crowds with accounts of their revolutionary experiences during 18thCentury themed dinner, dance and auction planned to help fund the Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps.

The event will open with a performance by the Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps in the traditional ballroom of the Mayflower Meeting House at 7 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner and cash bar.

Following dinner, guests can dance to 18thCentury social dances led by the Golden Griffon Stringtet. Dancing experience is not necessary, organizers said emphatically, as instructors will be on hand.

The silent auction during the evening will also help fund the Plymouth-based, award-winning young musicians.

While 18thCentury attire is encouraged, it is not mandatory and the event is open to the public.

Turning Through Time will take place from 7 until 11 p.m. Friday, April 12 at the Mayflower Meeting House, 499 S Main St, Plymouth.

Tickets are priced at$75 and can be purchased at the Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps website: http://pfdc.us/pfdcblog/

The Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps is a non-profit, all youth corps, comprised of students ages 12-18 from Plymouth and surrounding communities. It was founded in 1971 and the current corps is now in the 48th season. All funds generated will help continue the group mission of musical excellence, honor, and tradition, and help the corps purchase a new truck, uniforms and guard equipment.

For tickets or more information, phone organizers Audra Pieknik, (248) 259-3225 or Ed Ungerman, (248) 217-1456.
