Canton Fire Station sets open house

The Canton Fire Department will be hosting the annual Fire Station Open House from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Fire Station #1, located at 1100 S. Canton Center Road.

This year, the open house will include station tours, a fire vehicle display, and live demonstrations of the department extrication equipment (“jaws of life”). Kids will be able to participate in a scavenger hunt, try on fire gear, and go through the Fire Safety House. Light refreshments and giveaways will be provided.

The open house is scheduled in con- junction with National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 6-12) to promote fire safety in the community.
