The Northville Fire Department will host a Firefighter Training Academy to provide the basic training necessary to seek Firefighter I and II certification through the State of Michigan.  The Northville City Fire Department serves both the Cities of Northville and Plymouth,

Classes begin Nov. 5, 2019 and continue through April, 2020, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, along with some Saturdays. Those who successfully complete the Academy and pass the State certification examinations may apply for employment with the Northville City Fire Dept.

“We have a dedicated corps of State-certified fire instructors who are eager to take students through the classroom and practical parts of the training,” said Fire Chief Steve Ott.

There is no charge to attend the Academy, although there may be some out-of-pocket expenses for items such as books.

Those interested need to complete an application and sign an Acknowledgment, Waiver and Release form. For more information or an application, contact Chief Ott at 248-449-9920 or sott@ci.northville.mi.us.
