Area mourns the loss of Battalion Fire Chief Chris Mack

Fellow firefighters, family, friends, and residents mourn the untimely loss of active-duty Plymouth Township Fire Department Battalion Chief Christopher Mack, of Canton, who passed away January 31, 2023 at the age of 50 after after suffering heart failure.

Known for his congeniality and mild manners, Battalion Chief Mack dedicated his life to the Plymouth Township Community, mentoring, helping and training many department firefighters who are still serving throughout the region.

Battalion Chief Mack began his career in 1995 as a Firefighter/Paramedic and excelled at each promotional rank, most recently as Battalion Chief of Platoon #3.  He served diligently for many years on both the Local 1496 Executive Board and the Western Wayne County Urban Search and Rescue team.

Among Mr. Mack’s survivors are his wife Monica, mother Pamela, and the late William, siblings Ronald James, Donny Wayne King, Michael J. Cross and Justine Cross. He leaves behind his beloved dog Belle.

Funeral Services are being handled by the Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road, Plymouth 48170.

Memorial Visitation Friday, February 3,  10:00 a.m until the Friday 3:00 p.m. Memorial Service and Ceremony at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, 46250 Ann Arbor Road, West, Plymouth, MI 48170

Reception following at the V.F.W. Post 6695, 1426 S. Mill St. in Plymouth.
