D-Day – June 6th, 1944.

It has been 79 years but few events have galvanized a population and stirred the imagination like D-Day.

As dawn broke over the beaches of Normandy thousands of real-life “Private Ryans,” British, French, Canadians and Americans, left the relative safety of their landing craft and stormed ashore. It was the largest amphibious operation is history, one that marked the beginning of the liberation of France and Western Europe.

Today, as we commemorate the Armed Forces and America’s Greatest Generation that stormed those shores to defend the world from tyranny let us never forget the sacrifice and courage of the men and women who played their part in D-Day.
