The City of Northville is participating in a national mission this year to honor and pay tribute to their local U.S. Armed Forces veterans and active duty military personnel by lining the downtown streets with inspiring military tribute banners during the months of May and November.

The banners show a photo of the service person with their name, dates of service and branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Banner honorees have served from the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Irag and Afghanistan.

The banners were installed in time for the 75thAnniversary V-E Day celebration on May 8, 2020 and set for Memorial Day on May 25. They will be re-installed in November for Veterans Day.

The banner sponsorship program set-up by the Northville Chamber of Commerce is designed to help raise funds for various non-profits, veteran’s organizations and to “never forget the brave men and women who have served and are serving our nation today.”

The chamber has posted heart felt and heroic stores shared by family members about the honorees.
