There’s a wonderful opportunity coming this week for area residents to contribute to the community by helping those in need and at the same time meet the dedicated all-paramedic firefighters of your professional Plymouth Township Fire Department.
This Saturday, February 22, Fire Department firefighters from IAFF Union Local 1496 will hold two separate fundraising events. Start with “Pancakes with a Purpose” at Stella’s Black Dog Tavern, 860 Fralick St., in Plymouth, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Stellas’ is serving pancakes, eggs and bacon – $18 adults / $12 kids.
Continue on for bowling fun at Plaza Lanes, 42001 Ann Arbor Rd. for a second sponsored event, “Pins & Purpose.” $20 / per person will include two games and pizza from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
A portion of the day’s business proceeds from both entities will go directly to the Plymouth Township Fire Fighters Charity, a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization. Tickets will be sold at the door.
This is not the first year the Local 1496 union members have organized charitable events for the betterment of our residents. For many years the township’s firefighters has a rich history of holding successful annual charitable events.
This year they need your support more than ever.
In 2024 alone, Township local firefighters unselfishly volunteered their time and effort to provide funding for families and children in need and donated all collected funds to local hospitals, schools and charity groups, including but not limited to, Miracle League of Plymouth, Salvation Army, United Way, Breast Cancer Awareness Health Campaign, Trinity Health Oncology Department, and Billy Moon Foundation-the national charity advocacy for organ donation, and others not named.
