Mother nature isn’t ready to give up her grip on winter and cold. Light rain showers will change over to moderate snow late tonight. Snow may be heavy at times.
The National Weather Service in Detroit-Pontiac, MI says temperatures will continue to fall this evening with rain showers moving back into the area after 8 p.m. Light showers will quickly give way to accumulating snowfall for the remainder of the night with 1 to 3″ expected, highest in the Detroit Metro Area and surrounding vicinity. A locally higher amount around 4″ is not out of the question, nor is a rumble of thunder or two.
On this date in 1967 Saginaw county reported an F1 tornado around 7:20 p.m. Property damages were recorded at $250,000.
