The largest Arts and Acts Festival in the 10-year history of the event will return to downtown Northville this weekend, June 21, 22, and 23. This year, organizers said, the festival will feature more than 130 local and national artists and vendors during the weekend of arts, crafts, theater, literature, music, food and entertainment. With many restaurants, shops, and land- marks along the festival path, visitors will also find neighborhood venues to visit between viewing the vast display of arts.

“We have had an incredible response by artists and the community to the festival return to downtown Northville. This year will be bigger and more diverse than past years, with more than 45 returning exhibiting artists and 85 new artists and vendors. We hope to attract upwards of 25,000 visitors over the weekend,” said Alexandra Teicher, festival coordinator.

After a one-year collaboration with Northville Township, the 2019 Arts and Acts Festival will be located on Main and Center streets in downtown Northville where it began a decade ago. The festival will open from 3-8 p.m. Friday, June 21; from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22 and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 23.

The festival will include the Art in the Sun Juried Fine Art Fair; Makers Mart of Northville; Young Artist Juried Art Fair; Northville Art House Chalk Festival; Short on Words Literary Contest; live model portrait drawing and painting; children’s art activities and musical entertainment.

Arts and Acts brings together the community to celebrate the imagination, talent, art and cultural diversity of artists through- out the country, Teicher said. The festival is a completely free event to attend with food, drink, shopping, contests, and entertainment for visitors to experience. The festival is presented by the Northville Art House with proceeds designated for public art exhibition and art education programs and services in Northville and the surrounding communities.
