Canton Public Safety welcomed a new officer recently with the arrival of Ofc. Hank, a 21-month-old German shepherd who arrived in the United States last October from his birthplace in Jessen, Germany. Hank underwent rigorous training to become a full-fledged service patrol canine and is now certified by both the National Association of Professional Canine Handlers and K9 ATF in narcotic detection, tracking, obedience, article searches, area searches, and handler protection. Hank loves all of the attention he receives when he comes to work and also enjoys his hobbies which include playing with his dog toys, hanging out in his patrol car and listening to country music.
