Public invited to award ceremony

An award ceremony will take place at the Plymouth District Library on Wednesday, February 8 at 1 p.m. when the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) will present staff members with a Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding chapter support.

The Arsenal of Democracy Chapter of the AUSA is recognizing the library for hosting a Veterans’ photo display each November over the last few years.  AUSA is a private, non-profit educational organization that supports America’s Army – Regular Army, National Guard, Reserve, retired soldiers, government civilians, Wounded Warriors, Veterans, concerned citizens and family members.

AUSA’s 120 chapters worldwide made up entirely of volunteers provide recreational and educational opportunities to U.S. Soldiers and their families. Most importantly, they support deployed soldiers and families left behind. The AUSA and its’ chapters have contributed over $2 million to awards, scholarships and support of soldier and family programs.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
