Canton residents can join members of the police force from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Summit on the Park 55+ Club Room.

Coffee with a Cop is open to the public and provide a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Canton neighborhoods and business districts.

The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies or stressful situations, noted Deputy Chief Scott Hilden.

Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building. Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for relaxed one-on-one interaction, he added.

The Canton Police Department is hosting multiple sessions throughout the community this year.

Anyone with a business or organization interested in hosting a 2-hour session of Coffee with a Cop, should contact the police department at (734) 394-5401. 46000 Summit on the Park is located at 46000 Summit Parkway in Canton.
