A recent Canton Township Board Meeting was filled with joy as eight Summit on the Park Employees were recognized for using their emergency training to save Barry Mullinix. Summit employees sprang into action, giving Mullinix chest compressions and then using an automatic external defibrillator to shock his heart. Lifeguards gave three more cycles of CPR until Canton paramedics arrived and took over. During the meeting, Township Supervisor Phil LaJoy and Canton Leisure Services Director Debra Bilbrey-Honsowetz honored eight Summit employees with resolutions honoring their heroic efforts. Senator Colbeck also sent resolutions from his office which were presented by his District Manager.
